Édifice Messaging becomes even smarter
Good news: our Messaging system continues to evolve to make your daily life easier. After its redesign last September, it is still being enhanced with two new features: automatic cleanup of old messages and an option to prevent replies.
Messages older than 3 years are deleted
To help you keep a clean and organized workspace without manual effort, a new management rule is being introduced. Starting June 1st, 2026, messages in your inbox that are more than three years old will be permanently deleted. This process will be carried out automatically every week.
This retention period was chosen in accordance with the French Education Ministry’s Master Plan for Digital Workspaces (SDET) recommendations. It ensures a good balance between preserving necessary communication history and freeing up storage space.
If you want to keep a conversation beyond this period, you simply need to move it into a folder within the Messaging system. These messages will then be excluded from automatic deletion.
Deleting unnecessary emails also contributes to a more readable interface, but it also has an environmental impact. By reducing unnecessary digital storage, we collectively avoid the production of around 8 tons of CO₂ equivalent per year. A small step for Édifice and its users, but a meaningful impact for the environment.
Control your exchanges with the “no reply” option
Do you need to share important information with all parents without triggering a flood of individual responses? Teachers and staff now have a useful tool to manage communication more effectively.
When composing a message, simply click the menu to the right of the “Send” button and select “No reply”. Until the message is sent, you can change your mind and re-enable replies by selecting “Enable replies” again. Recipients will see a note at the bottom of the message indicating that replies are not allowed.
