Édifice in Colombia: ¡Aquí vamos!
Édifice continues its journey through Latin America with the launch of a pilot project in Colombia. Three schools in Medellín are joining our network, with the main goal of improving communication between teaching staff and students’ families. ¿Listo? ¡Chevere!*
Our mascot Édi had already made its way across the Atlantic, establishing a presence in about fifteen schools in Mexico. Now, the journey continues, this time in Colombia! The driving force behind this pilot project? A significant gap in communication between teachers and students’ families. “This initiative meets a critical need: providing an effective platform to keep parents updated on their children’s activities and progress,” says Melina Ochoa, Latin America Project Manager at Édifice.
Over 3,300 Colombian Students Now Using ONE and NEO
Three public schools in Medellín, Colombia, have joined this initiative, which will continue through the end of the Colombian school year in December: Fe y Alegría el Limonar, Mariscal Robledo, and Juan de Dios Cock. In total, 3,361 students and 3,899 parents are involved!
The onboarding process is going smoothly for both teachers, who are new to digital learning platforms, and parents. “We’re guiding families through account activation, and they’re very receptive once we take the time to explain the benefits of ONE,” says Alidy María Vargas, lead teacher at Fe y Alegría el Limonar.
Teachers and Parents Are Excited!
The teacher from Medellín shared that she and her colleagues are continuing to familiarize themselves with the platform, gradually exploring all the possibilities it offers. “Honestly, I thought the process would be more complicated,” she admits. “But ONE is such a user-friendly and accessible platform. Sometimes, the only limits are in our own minds—the key is to give it a try!”
The program is set to expand to 20,000 students by the start of the new school year in January. “Everyone involved is really excited,” says Melina Ochoa. Édi is just as excited!
And if you, as teachers, are eager to connect with your Latin American peers or even set up a school exchange, here are a few tips to get started.
