25 September 2024 – Enhancing Role Visibility

🪴[UPDATES]

Make it easier to identify staff or teachers by their roles

We’ve made it easier to identify staff or teachers by their roles. Now, you can quickly recognize staff based on their function and easily understand the specific roles certain teachers hold (like principal, academic advisor, etc.). With three key updates, here’s what you can now do or see:

  • In the Administration Console, an administrator can easily assign a role to a user when creating an account (staff only) or when editing it (teachers and staff).
  • In the Administration Console, if the role does not exist, an administrator can create a new role title. This action can be performed when creating a profile or in the “Manage My Institution” menu, under the “Role Management” tab.
  • In the Directory, the role will be visible to everyone on the user profiles.

These initial updates mark the first phase of our role management project. The next phase will allow users to be searched by their role, instead of by role groups.

A big thank you to the City of Paris for funding this update.

Data management : When a user changes institutions or is transferred within the console, they will be automatically removed from both manual and automatic associations.
