Web 4.9

Febuary 22, 2023 – We are working to streamline navigation by standardizing the features accessible directly from the app homepages.

🪴[TECHNICAL UPDATES]

This release sets the stage for an exciting new addition coming very soon that we can’t wait to unveil: redesigned homepages for your learning apps!

Our team is working to streamline navigation by standardizing the features accessible directly from the app homepages. This includes adding consistent sorting, searching, folder, and trash capabilities across the board. The goal is to provide a more seamless experience as you move between apps. You can also delete or archive shared content. On another note, we are giving the thumbnails a makeover to make them more eye-catching.

In version 4.9, our team is carrying out key technical upgrades behind the scenes that will ensure the homepages work smoothly when launched.

This release represents the preparatory work happening behind the scenes, so users won’t see any front-facing changes at this stage.

This move to overhaul the front framework will include the following advances:

  • Standardizing content management logic across apps for consistency
  • Adopting React, a new JavaScript framework for building components

This shift also involves compartmentalization to remove interdependencies, allowing us to update individual components without impacting others. The result is a more flexible and agile codebase.

🐜 [FIXES]

  • After launching the enhanced collaborative features for Multimedia Notebooks as part of the last release, some of you encountered issues that blocked further editing if the Notebook was left idle for 10 minutes. We have fixed the issue as part of this new version.
  • In addition, previous versions blocked access to legacy Multimedia Notebooks due to our updates.  This release restores access so you can view and edit your existing notebooks again
